On September 15th - 17th, the Netaudiofestival took place in London.
During daytime, talks, stands and coffee-table discussions where held at the Candid Arts Centre in Torrens Street, and the Electrowerks right next door provided the adequate athmosphere for the nighttime-sessions, with top-class Netaudio artists playing there!

Cotumo, Strippycow and I
gathered at Airport Schönefeld on Friday night, to check-in for flight no FR8547 to London Stansted. Netlag-comrad Don unfortunately had cancelled his participation due to a heavy flu.

The flight did not take off according to schedule, but approximately at 22:30 we left the manoevring area and the RyanAir-plane became airborne. It was a pleasant flight, and when we arrived in London Stansted around 23:00 localtime, it was a nice latesummer-night with some 23° degrees, and apart from being a bit exhausted, we were all in good humour.

A shuttlebus took us straight to the heart of London, where we arrived at Liverpool Street Station around midnight. After a short moment of disorientation, we took a cab and were driven to Electrowerks. After having arrived there, we were sincerely received by the Netaudio-crew and plunged right into the party.

We arrived just in time to hear
Steevio , playing us in with a decent techhousy-set.

Subsequent to steevio, Kabale&Liebe from Amsterdam delivered a convincing liveset, before DNCN from Manchester approached the soundgenerators. I had already got to know Duncan during my last visit to London in course of the Runsounds-party back in May this year..

The club depicted the perfect setting for the party, and even though initially only moderately crowded, the athmosphere amongst the partypeople was great, and in the course of time, people increasingly rushed in..

After Molair, who was next after Duncan, it was my turn to deliver my liveset, closing the fridaynightsession at Electrowerks, until the lights went on.

Knackered, we started our homeward journey. We took a cab together with our host Shaarka to a small but very lovely little house in Islington, where we were to spend the consequent days. We did not only have a very pleasant time there and were taken care of very cordially, but Shaarka also turned out to be an excellent tour guide during our stay in London.

On saturday noon, it was cotumo´s turn to open the daytime-session at Candid Arts Centre, where we arrived with a little delay, before he kicked off with a top-class minimalhouse-set as usual.

Next, we were invited into the lounge to attend a coffee-table-discussion with the guests of the festival, while we gave answers to questions about Pulsar or the Netlag-Partyseries. After a nice little dinner in the second floor, we in for the party at Electrowerks next door, where Kollektiv Turmstraße absolutely convinced me of being a class of it´s own. Great music!

I had noticed the beginning of L´embroille´s set, but the exertions of the past 24 hours took their tool and Strippycow and I had to head back home to our domicile. Unfortunately, we therefore missed Miss Fitz´s and Dub Kult´s sets, but cotumo and kringeling assured me that also these artists, which I had regrettably missed, had justly been invited to the festival :) Cotumo and Shaarka stayed until the crack of dawn.

On sunday, we continued partying at a very nice club in Hackney called "thePool", where the official festival-afterhour took place, and while the artists played in the basement, some of us took the chance of playing a couple of pool-matches.

J-Lab, Chris Box, Alex Fisher and Cotumo, to name but a few, played their sets, while this lovely weekend came to an end, and in the evening, we made an excursion to the Bricklane in Whitechapel and had an excellent Indian meal at Sweet&Spicy.

Sunday had also come to an end, and we had only half a Monday for a little sightseeing-tour through London, since we had to get our plane back to Berlin. Due to the recently enlarged restrictions at UK-airports, we had to allow for some additional time while checking-in.

Despite of that, we still had some free-time, which we spent on our tour through the city of London, and Shaarka showed us around some nice spots in the city centre during a "short programme" covering BigBen, the Millenium bridge, the riverside at Westminster etc.

During this little tour we could all convince ourself of the prettiness of the British capital, before Cotumo and I took our leave and said good-bye to Shaarka and Strippycow (who stayed in town one day longer and took the plane back to Berlin on Tuesday with Raimund, kringeling and Alessio von Adois). We therefore got into the Shuttlebus to Stansted and departed around half past 3 in the afternoon.

Around 19:30 the plane took off to Berlin-Schönefeld with a little delay, and we landed at some 23:00.

We want to say thanks to our entertainers in London, especially our host Shaarka, the organisers of the Netlabel-festival, namely Andi Studer, Pascalo, Alex Fisher, Chris Box and Hannah, J-lab, as well as the numerous top-class acts, whom we were allowed to get to know.
Cotumo, Raimund, Strippycow and I are already looking forward to the next Netaudio-festival, and we all want to say thank you!

All images have been shot by Strippycow and are visible hier, apart from the picturesr 3 and 9, which were shot by Andi Studer. His pictures from the Netaudiofestival can be recalled here.
